Subject: Sociolinguistics Challenge Update
Dear Subscribers,
We are one day away from the end of the 48 hour
challenge initiated by Roger Shuy for
sociolinguists. So far, sociolinguists have
raised $735 out of the $1000!
If sociolinguists can raise the other $265
left, Roger Shuy will donate an extra $500
towards the subfield challenge for sociolinguistics!
Hurry and donate now! Make Sociolinguistics
the leading subfield in the challenge!

Subject: Why Donate?
Dear Linglite Subscriber,
Why should you donate this year? Here are a few reasons
that may apply to you or someone you know:
- You found a conference announcement on LINGUIST that
you send a paper to and got accepted to present your
original work (congratulations, by the way!)
- Through the LINGUIST site, you found out about a very
interesting and helpful resource offered for free that you
could not live without now for doing your own research.
- You found your latest job through an announcement
on LINGUIST List (congratulations again!)
- An internship announcement on LINGUIST gave you the
possibility to travel half way around the world and
do very interesting things in the field!
- You saw a new review of YOUR book announced on
LINGUIST List!
These are just some reasons why LINGUIST List helps
the linguistic community and you in many ways. All
of this is done for free. Could we do all this without
your donations? Most likely, not.
Please donate now!
