Pedagogical/School Grammars

A colleague here in Cameroon would like to know of any GOOD
grammars that have been written of minority languages,
designed for use in the minority language community schools.
He is writing such a grammar for his language, Mada
(Chadic), and would like some models to follow. The target
audience is adults and children, mother tongue speakers of
the language described in the grammar, who are learning
about the grammatical structures of their own language.
References, and perhaps pointers on how to obtain copies
would be very appreciated.
