Dear colleagues,
The Autotyp genealogical and geographical classification is now available
online at
http://www.uni-leipzig.de/~autotyp/
It is a classification of all the languages in the Autotyp typological
database up to the highest level that is both demonstrable and
reconstructable. (In going no farther than what is both demonstrable and
reconstructable it differs from most other published classifications.) It
also includes geographical coordinates and a complete classification of
languages into geographical areas at two levels (continent-sized and
smaller subcontinental areas), with definitions. There is a downloadable
data file and also an on-line search interface.
