Dear ALT members,

At the conference in Hong Kong, we presented the slate for the 2011
elections. As is customary, the past president was on the slate for the
new executive committee. We were hoping to rely on Anna's experience for
the years to come, but her tragic death meant that we had to ask the
nominating committee to make a new nomination. Below you can find the
new slate.

All paid-up members of ALT are entitled to vote. If you have not yet
renewed your membership for this year, you can re-join by filling out
the form at <http://www.linguistic-typology.org/join.html>, or you can
contact the current secretary-treasurer at <jcv at arts.kuleuven.be>.

Members are invited to either approve of the whole slate, or to approve
or disapprove of part of the slate. If you are a member, or have just
renewed your membership, you can vote by sending your message to
<altelections2011 at gmail.com> or by replying to this message, before
October 30th 2011.

Votes will be counted by the former secretary-treasurer, Johan Van der
Auwera. We would like to thank him for taking on this task.
