[Lingtyp] Greenberg Award at ALT11

Dear ALT members,

At the conference in Albuquerque, ALT will present the Joseph Greenberg 
award for a typological dissertation defended in 2013-2014. The jury of 
the award has now made its decision. The award winner is:

Katarzyna Janic of Université Lumière Lyon 2, who will receive the 
Joseph Greenberg award for her dissertation "L’antipassif dans les 
langues accusatives" (The antipassive in accusative languages), defended 
at Université Lumière Lyon 2 in 2013.

She will present a plenary lecture at ALT11 in Albuquerque 
<http://www.unm.edu/~alt2015/>.

The jury also nominated a runner-up:

Joshua Birchall. 2014. Argument marking patterns in South American 
languages. Nijmegen: Radboud Universiteit.

We are very grateful to jury chair Isabelle Bril, and to jury members 
Alexandre Arkhipov, Isabelle Bril, Marina Chumakina, Denis Creissels, 
Sonia Cristofaro, Spike Gildea, Eva Schultze-Berndt, Martine Vanhove and 
Fernando Zúñiga for all the work they put into reading and evaluating 
the entries. A jury report will follow before the conference.
