FIRST CIRCULAR
The 11th meeting of the Association for Linguistic Typology will be held at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, from August 1st through August 3rd, 2015.
1. PRESENTATIONS AND PROGRAM
There will be 67 general papers, 11 posters and four theme sessions (totaling 23 presentations) at the conference. The names, affiliations and titles of all of the presentations for ALT 11 can be found at http://www.unm.edu/~alt2015/program.html. A preliminary program for the conference will be published in the near future.
2. REGISTRATION, RECEPTION AND BANQUET
The registration fees are:
Early Registration: US$105 (discounted student rate: US$70)
Late Registration: US$125 (discounted student rate: US$85)
Early registration closes on June 1, 2015. Early registration will be online and will be announced in the second circular. On-site registration will also be available.
There will be a reception hosted by John Benjamins Publishing Company on Saturday, August 1st, open to all registered participants. The conference banquet will be held at the Albuquerque Hotel on Sunday evening, August 2nd. There will be both vegetarian and nonvegetarian options. Tickets for the banquet can be purchased online along with registration; details will be announced in the second circular.
3. TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATIONS
Information for travel and accommodations can be found at http://www.unm.edu/~alt2015/. The Albuquerque International Sunport code is ABQ, and the airport is served by several major airlines. International passengers can make connections from major international gateway airports in the US.
Visitors to the US from other countries should check if a visa is required and, if so, start the process of applying soon. Official letters of invitation to attend the conference can be requested via our e-mail (alt2015 at unm.edu<mailto:alt2015 at unm.edu>).
Accommodations have been arranged at the Albuquerque Hotel. ALT has arranged a special rate of $109 plus tax. In order to book your room at the Hotel Albuquerque, email abqreservations at hhandr.com<mailto:abqreservations at hhandr.com>, or phone (+1) 505-843-6300, 1-800-237-2133 or 1-866-505-7829 (the last two phone numbers are toll free within the US). To obtain the conference rate, mention the Association of Linguistic Typology (block code 1507ASSOCI). Alternatively, you may book online at http://www.hotelabq.com; enter 1507ASSOCI in the "Group Code" field. The group rate is available for the nights of July 27th through August 5th.
Accommodations will be arranged at Casas del Rio, which are on-campus apartments. The rate for single rooms is $40.50 per night, and for a shared room (double) the rate is $35.50 per person per night. Information for accommodation at Casas del Rio will be made available shortly.
