[Lingtyp] A loss - John Davey: an obituary

Dear colleagues


As you may recall from some previous messages, linguistics (and linguistics publishing) suffered a dreadful loss - John Davey, one of the best linguistics publishers, passed away on 21 April.  John Davey was a commissioning editor at Oxford University Press for many years – in many ways he created linguistics at The Press, and was instrumental in shaping linguistics across the planet. He was a most wonderful editor one could possibly wish for. I thought I’d share his obituary (recently published in The Bookseller) with you all.
