11th International Austronesian and Papuan Languages and Linguistics Conference (APLL11): Leiden University, 13-15 June 2019
The Austronesian and Papuan Languages and Linguistics Research Group is pleased to announce that its eleventh international conference - APLL11 - will be held at Leiden University on 13-15 June 2019. The purpose of the APLL conferences is to provide a venue for presentation of the best current research on Austronesian and Papuan languages and linguistics and to promote collaboration and research in this area. APLL11 follows last year's highly successful APLL10 held in Surrey, previous APLL conferences held in Paris and London, and the Austronesian Languages and Linguistics (ALL) conferences held at SOAS and St Catherine's College, Oxford (see https://sites.google.com/view/apllconference/home).
More information about the 2019 conference is available at:

Invited speakers:
Åshild Næss, Professor of Linguistics, University of Oslo
Harald Hammarström, Department of Linguistics and Philology, Uppsala University
Abstracts are now invited. Presentations will be 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes of discussion. Each individual may present up to one single-authored paper and one joint paper. Abstracts must be submitted via the EasyChair system which you can access at: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=apll11

Abstracts should be no more than one A4 page in length, including references and examples. They should be anonymous, and set in a minimum of 12pt font. They should be in pdf format and the filename should start with APLL11, followed by an underscore and then first authors' surname, e.g. APLL11_bloggs.pdf. If you have a common surname, please also include initials, e.g. APLL11_jjones.pdf. Abstracts will be peer-reviewed by members of the programme committee.
The conference will contain two thematic sessions on:
1) Traces of contact in the lexicon
2) New methods in field data collection and analysis
Authors who want to present in one of these thematic sessions should indicate so in their abstracts.
A selected early career researcher will be invited to present a plenary talk of 45 minutes. BA, MA or PhD students, as well as researchers who have received their PhD after May 2017, are invited to submit an abstract and to indicate that they wish to be considered for the early career researcher plenary session.
