Hi Scott,
This sounds like the Basque allocutive, that marks the gender of the addressee only in informal speech. It is a gender index, and is not referential (i.e. used in sentences without a second person in the propositional content).
The Basque markers index the gender of the addressee (hence allocutive), while Bodo's mark the gender of the speaker. So Basque terminology is not relevant for Bodo.
I would have to check in my database on categorical genderlects, but cases where the gender-indexing markers do not have any primary function (such as marking person, gender, TAME, discourse...) are actually very rare.

Bodo (Tibeto-Burman, NE India) has a set of particles, two used by men and two by women, which indicate that the conversation is friendly and informal. Reminiscent of Thai krap and khaa, but with the opposite sense. Does anyone know if anyone has encountered such a category and given it a label? I need to decide what to call these, and would just as soon not make up a term if someone has already done it.
