[Lingtyp] Cross-linguistic syllable counting task

Dear typologists,

Are you aware of any study that cross-linguistically experimented whether people without linguistic training could intuitively count the number of syllables in their lects?
So far I could only find lect-specific studies, involving at most two or three lects.
