Hello there,
Does anyone know something about variation and change in breathy vowels in Gujarati, or can someone recommend relevant references? I presented an example of a minimal pair in my linguistics class today from this website - https://www.phonetik.uni-muenchen.de/studium/skripten/languagedemos/Demos/gujarati.html - and a student who is a Gujarati speaker suggested it was incorrect (she definitely produced the words shown here with modal vowels and an intervocalic h instead, which is supposed to be an older pronunciation).
Best wishes,
Adam
