Dear Sebastian,
sometimes I use Wikipedia, indeed. But as for Slavic, my favorite one has become
Encyclopedia of Slavic Languages and Linguistics (ESLL),
not alone because I'm one of the subject editors (😊), but because it is the most comprehensive and new one. At present, it is available only online (as you certainly know), but should start appearing in a print version (with additional entries) in the course of this year.
Best,
Björn.

Dear all,
most larger publishing houses have something called "Encyclopedia of Linguistics" or similar.
I would like to whether fellow list members a) use any of them and b) if you do use them, whether you have a preference and why, and which ones you would recommend, and why.
I have found the following:
1) Elsevier: Encyclopedia of Language and Linguistics
2) Oxford: International Encyclopedia of Linguistics
3) Routledge: Encyclopedia of Linguistics
4) de Gruyter: Wörterbücher zur Sprach- und Kommunikationswissenschaft
5) Brill: Encylopedia of (Slavic|Greek|Arabic|Hebrew) Linguistics
6) Cambridge: Encyclopedia of Language (much shorter than the rest)
7) Glottopedia.org
8) Wikipedia.org
9) Lexicon of linguistics: https://lexicon.hum.uu.nl/
I would also like to know whether there are some comparable projects which I may have missed.
Best wishes
Sebastian
