Writing to announce EXTENSION for HLS 28 to MARCH 24
Call for abstracts:

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the 28th Himalayan Languages Symposium, which will take place in Eugene, Oregon, USA, on August 2-3, 2025.

Abstract Submission
We invite papers that address any aspect of the languages and linguistics of the Himalayan and Trans-Himalayan region. Topics may include, but are not limited to:

  *   Phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, typology, language documentation, field reports, ethnographic studies, language technology, computational linguistics
  *   Contributions from related disciplines (e.g., history, archaeology, ethnobotany, genetics, anthropology) that inform the history and development of Himalayan languages
  *   Papers are not limited to the Trans-Himalayan language family but may also cover Indo-Aryan, Tai-Kadai, Austro-Asiatic, Hmong-Mien languages, as well as isolates, pidgins, and creoles traditionally spoken in the region.

Submission Guidelines

  *
Abstract deadline: March 24, 2025
  *   Abstracts should be anonymized, with a maximum length of one page, excluding references.
  *   Include author information (name, title, institutional affiliation, and contact details) in the body of your email.
  *   Submit abstracts as a PDF attachment to himalayanlanguagessymposium28 at gmail.com<mailto:himalayanlanguagessymposium28 at gmail.com>.

  *   We kindly invite colleagues to volunteer as reviewers for the conference abstracts.
