[Lingtyp] Call for papers: Languages and Language at the Crossroads of Disciplines (LLcD), Lille, Sept 1-3, 2025

Dear Colleagues, 

This is a call for papers for the second edition of the international conference Languages and Language at the Crossroads of Disciplines (LLcD), which will take place from September 1 to 3, 2025, at the University of Lille. The call is open until March 30, 2025. 

The conference will include a general session, thematic workshops, and a roundtable discussion. The working languages will be English and French. Submissions can be made for either a thematic workshop or the general session.

Guidelines for abstract submission 
Abstracts of individual contributions must not contain any information identifying the authors (name, affiliation, address, bibliographic references). 
Submissions must meet the following criteria: 

Maximum length: 500 words (including examples, excluding references) 
Content: The abstract must clearly present the research questions, adopted approach, methodology, data, and results. 
Language: Abstracts can be written in English or French. 
Format: Please use the provided template for your submission.

Conference themes 

The conference is broad in scope and welcomes any contribution related to a subfield of linguistics, covering various languages and approaches (descriptive, theoretical, empirical, interdisciplinary, etc.). However, as in the previous edition, a specific theme will be highlighted, particularly through a roundtable discussion on September 3. The 2025 thematic focus: Language appropriation and reappropriation: Theoretical, experimental, and corpus-based approaches in language acquisition and rehabilitation. The following speakers have confirmed their participation in the roundtable: Sophie Kern (CNRS DDL & Université de Lyon) and Jill Hohenstein (King’s College London). 

Associated Summer School 

The conference will be followed by a summer school from September 3 to 5, 2025, focusing on the theme: Theories and Data in Linguistic Research. 
Please note that applications and registrations for the summer school are separate from conference registration.
