Thanks, Bernat. That one I had read and enjoyed; it's more the non-Romance typological stuff I'd like pointers to.
Best
Nigel

Dear Nigel,

You could check out Groothuis 2022 for a non-binary view of finiteness in some Romance varieties:

Groothuis, Kim. 2022. “On the Relation between Finiteness and Clause Size : Evidence from Romanian and Southern Italo‐Romance Irrealis Clauses.” TRANSACTIONS OF THE PHILOLOGICAL SOCIETY 120 (1): 32–68. https://doi.org/10.1111/1467-968x.12226 [doi.org]<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://doi.org/10.1111/1467-968x.12226__;!!PDiH4ENfjr2_Jw!HP0HqwlcJ9rcqe5nUAKp3rXPPmGlr_yhyiyy8c89AImW7Gdgz7hHqm6ygi9Byxfepd0BQ7nj2mhm8XjbywsN-cHg_CsxSIyqWKcLDg$>.

Dear All,
I'm preparing some lectures on the morphosyntax of non-finite forms in Romance. Any suggestions for recent literature on the general question of the typology of the finite/non-finite distinction would be welcome. I found John Lowe's (2019) article very helpful: The syntax and semantics of nonfinite forms. Annual Review of Linguistics 5, 309-328. But there must be more out there I haven't caught up with.
Best
Nigel
