Dear colleagues,
We are now six weeks away from the start of the 2025 Linguistic Society of America (LSA) summer Institute, which we are hosting in the beautiful Eugene, OR, from July 7 to August 8, under the general theme of Language in Use.
There are two terms of exciting programming, with ~80 courses by faculty from around the world, including many on typology (https://center.uoregon.edu/LSA/2025/program/search/), and
eight co-located conferences (https://center.uoregon.edu/LSA/2025/co-located-conferences.php), including Usage-based Approaches to Phonology<https://sites.google.com/view/usage-based-phonology-2025/home>, SNAIL: Symposium on Northwest American Indigenous Languages<https://www.snailconference.org/home>, and the 28th Himalayan Languages Symposium<https://himalayansymposium.org>. Conference registration is waived for Institute attendees.
There are also many exciting practical tutorials on various tools on Wednesdays: https://center.uoregon.edu/LSA/2025/special_events.php
Please consider attending, and let your students know!
Best,
Volya Kapatsinski, Kaori Idemaru and Spike Gildea
