[Lingtyp] Call for proposals thematic issue Journal of South Asian Languages and Linguistics 2026

Dear list members,

We hereby solicit proposals for a thematic issue of the *Journal of South
Asian Languages and Linguistics* (JSALL). A description of the scope of
JSALL is found at the journal’s webpage

The thematic issue should include an introduction by the guest editor(s).
The deadline for submitting proposals is 1. December 2025 and the date of
notification will be 15. December 2025. The thematic issue will be
published in September 2026 and may be eligible for Open Access funding.
Proposals should be submitted to the Editor-In-Chief of JSALL, Eystein Dahl
(eystein.dahl at amu.edu.pl).

Proposals should contain:


   - A description of the research topic, including a brief discussion of
   the status quaestionis;
   - The research questions to be addressed;
   - A list of prospective contributors + title of papers + abstracts (300
   to 500 words)
   - A short account of how the proposed contributions address the research
   questions/research topic.

Some further particulars:


   - Guest editors can be (co-)author of one article in addition to the
   introduction.
   - Contributions to Special Issues will be subject to the same reviewing
   procedure as regular submissions, that is, blind peer-review by two
   reviewers external to the issue. The guest editors are responsible for the
   selection of peer reviewers.
