GMD Postgraduate Programme 1996/97

GMD offers 10 young scientists the opportunity to work on innovative
topics on a broad range of subjects. The emphasis is on
System Design Technology
Cooperation and Communication
Intelligent Multimedia Systems (includes Natural Language Processing)
Parallel Processing
which represent the four major research areas of GMD.
Each of the fully paid positions will have a duration of up to two
years. A single extension by one additional year is possible. Funding
can start in March 1996.
Applications must arrive before February 1, 1996.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) and demonstrate research
experience from projects in research institutions, universities or
industry. Good knowledge of English or German is required.
A statement of research qualification and interest should accompany
the application. The applications should include the following:
Curriculum Vitae
Copies of university degrees
Letters of reference
Publication lists
Research plan

Visiting Teacher in Linguistics / Phonetics:
University of Central England in Birmingham
The School of Health & Policy Studies at the University of Central
England requires a visiting teacher in February, to provide teaching
in Phonetics and Linguistics (including psycholinguistics) on their
BSc Hons. Speech & Language Therapy and BSc Hons. Human
Communication. Most of the required teaching is part of the Level 1
(first year) programme.
