I am presently doing research on reported speech in children's narrative and
I would like to get information from other researchers who are doing work on
the same subject, as well as bibliography thereon.
Thank you very much.

Subject: Romance and Old English Word Lists
Dear subscribers,
I'm looking for computerized Latin, French, Italian, and Old English word
lists for a project on historical phonetics. Please tell me if you know of
any place that might have some of those (or if you can recommend any other
lists to ask this question on)! I can post a summary to the list if there
are enough answers.
Very thankful in advance,

Subject: code-switching in written texts (query)
CALLING ALL CODE-SWITCHING EXPERTS:
I am looking for references to research (published or in progress)
on code-switching / code-mixing in written texts. My specific project
is an analysis of the use of Latin and irish [D [D [D [D [DI [C [C [C [C in the
notes and
commentaries on a medieval Irish poem. I am especially interested in
the factors that trigger code-switching / code-mixing. Is there anybody
out there who is or has been working in this field and would like
to exchange views and experiences?
Please reply to me on: dgea3600g at university-central-england.ac.uk
I'll post a summary on LINF [DGUIST [D.

Subject: Q: sg/pl in martial art(s)
A non-linguist colleague who is not on the list made the following query:
Does anyone know whether saying that one is taking up "a martial art" is the
correct usage of the term? Is it rather like saying one is studying "a
physic"? I've been told that one has to take up martial arts in the plural
or not at all, but would dearly like to dispute this.
I have no idea. Any answers?
