Due to a probable significant reduction in the
Endowment's appropriation for fiscal year, 1996,
the October 2, 1995 deadline for NEH Summer
Stipends has been suspended. There will be no new deadline
between October, 1995 and October, 1996. For further
information on NEH deadlines, please call the NEH Public
Information Office at 202 606 8400. Please cross-post this

National Endowment for the Humanities Reference Materials Program
Changes in the November deadline
On December 1, 1995 the Reference Materials Program will
become part of the Division of Preservation and Access. The
current postmark deadline of November 1, 1995 for Reference
Materials is postponed to July 1, 1996, which is the next deadline
for all applications to the Division of Preservation and Access.
Projects could begin by May 1997. The Reference Materials
guidelines currently available from the program will be used for
the July 1, 1996 deadline.
Potential applicants for new projects may contact the staff of
the Reference Materials Program for further information about these
changes. Project directors for Reference Materials (RT) grants
that are due to conclude before May, 1997 and who anticipate a need
for renewed Endowment support should immediately consult the
Reference Materials staff regarding the impact of these changes on
their projects.
