ENGLISH GRAMMAR:

Morenberg, Max (1997), Doing Grammar. 2nd Edition. Oxford University Press.

The new edition of this text employs insights from contemporary language
theories but builds them into a practical and coherent system that stays
firmly rooted within traditional models.

INDONESIAN GRAMMAR:

Sneddon, James Neil (1997), Indonesian: A comprehensive Grammar. Routledge.

This grammar is a complete reference guide to the language of Indonesia as
used by native speakers.

SPEECH PERCEPTION:

Liberman, Alvin (1996) Speech: A special Code. MIT Press.

Alvin Liberman and his collegues at Haskins Labs in New Haven have created
the techniques, the methods and the insights appropriate to the study of
speech perception. This volume brings together a carefully edited collection
of 23 of their most important articles.

LANGUAGE ACQUISITION:

Holzman, Mathilda (1997) The Language of Children, 2nd edition.

The emphaiss of this book is on explaining psychological variables in
language. The development of human language use is first related to the
development of signaling in other species and to the early interaction
between the infant and his/her caregiver. The author then goes on to
relate the child's language development to broader cognitive development,
and considers the influence of schooling and scoial experience.
