Subject: Conversational Repair
I would like to thank all the people that have replied to my query and
offered their advice and suggestions. It appears that conversational
repair is an area of language learning and everyday life discourse
that has been investigated mainly through tape and/or video recordings
and lots of work has been done by Schegloff. It is an issue of
importance since it is evident in all conversational encounters among
native and non-native speakers. There are many different techniques
of conversational maintenance and recent research primarily concerns
with multi-participants conversational discourse.
