I am happy to report that the server problems associated with my
electronic journal of language and law, "Language in the Judicial
Process," have been resolved. The URL <http://ljp.la.utk.edu> now gives
full access to the current issue (issue 2.4, online today) and all back
issues.

Because of the nature of the server problems, issue 2.4 contains fewer
items than originally planned. The book reviews for the books listed below
will be in 3.1, to appear shortly.

Subject:   Magnetic Phonetics

New for 1997 from Cascadilla Press: Magnetic Phonetics.

Magnetic Phonetics is a set of almost 300 magnetic tiles with all of the
IPA symbols on them, including tiles for diacritics.  The tiles stick to
refrigerators and metal file cabinets.  Magnetic Phonetics also contains
120 tiles oriented towards broad transcription of English, with a score on
each tile.  This set can be used to play IPA Crossword on a tabletop or a
magnetic surface.  We include a rules guide and copies of the current IPA
chart with each set.
