Subject: Computational Grammarian for French
A Seattle area software company has an opening for a contract position
(duration: approximately one year). The position pays between $40.00 and
$50.00 per hour. Following is a description of the position:
COMPUTATIONAL GRAMMARIAN for French
This is a great opportunity to work with a dedicated group of researchers who
are creating a system for unrestricted text understanding and generation.
DESCRIPTION:
An NLP group has developed a robust system for parsing French grammar; the
first commercial use of this technology will be grammar checking software that
will be built into a French word processor. A grammarian is needed to develop
the computational rules for the grammar checking component of the system. The
position is for one year, with a strong possibility of renewal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The grammarian's qualifications must include an advanced degree in
linguistics, or a closely related discipline; native proficiency in French;
and some computational experience. Practical experience with a grammar
checking application or other NLP implementation is highly desirable.
Interested persons should e-mail a resume to Resource Management Services at:
resourcemgt at msn.com. Or fax a resume to RMS-Linguist at 206/223-8227.
