Can anyone help me in getting in contact with a native
speaker, or field-researcher, of the Chadic language
Kanakuru (also known as "Dera", and "Deru") ?

Kanakuru is spoken in Nigeria, in the Bornu and Adamawa provinces
(main cities: Shani, Shellen). It belongs to the Bole-Tangale
cluster of the Plateau-Sahel branch of the Chadic language family.

Thank you in advance,

Vieri Samek-Lodovici

I would be grateful if any member of the list point me in the direction
of statistics (in hard copy or electronic form) on letter-frequency in
any or all of the Indo-European languages using alphabetic scripts. I am
particularly interested in any work done on earlier stages of the
languages. All help will be gratefully acknowledged and a summary posted
to the list.

I have the following question from a student who is visiting my department:
What has been written about unaccusative phenomena in ergative languages?
Please answer directly to her: martha at cphling.dk (Martha Karrebaek)
