               IN HEAD-DRIVEN PHRASE STRUCTURE GRAMMAR

                 30th Poznan Linguistic Meeting (PLM)
                            Poznan, Poland

                   Bob Borsley, University of Wales, Bangor
                   Tilman Hoehle, Universitaet Tuebingen

We invite papers concerned with formalization of Slavic languages and
phenomena relevant for description of Slavic languages (e.g., "free" word
order, morphophonology) within the formalism of Head-driven Phrase
Structure Grammar (Pollard and Sag 1987, 1994).


SUBMISSION

Anyone interested in giving a talk at the workshop should send a short
abstract (up to one page) in English either by email (acceptable
formats are: ASCII, PostScript, TeX, LaTeX, LaTeX2e, RTF; also gzipped
uuencoded versions thereof) to:

We envisage publication of workshop proceedings.  Details will be
given in subsequent announcements.


PARTICIPATION

Anybody intending to participate (also the speakers) should register
for the Poznan Linguistic Meeting *as soon as possible*.  Details
follow.

Since there is a limited number of single rooms, please indicate the

		THE THIRD ANNUAL CREOLE LANGUAGE WORKSHOP

			This year's theme is:

	"EMPOWERING CREOLES: DEVELOPING PEDAGOGICAL METERIALS
			IN AND ON CREOLES"
		Keynote Speaker:  Dr. Loreto Todd

			March 19 - 23, 1997

	The Annual Creole Language Workshops continue to provide an
opportunity for public school educators and administrators, university
faculty and students, creolists, and members of the community to come
together to exchange views and address issues and concerns of creole
language use in an urban setting, with particular emphasis on the
educational system.  The THIRD ANNUAL CREOLE LANGUAGE WORKSHOP will
include the keynote address, to be delivered by Dr. Loreto Todd, lectures
by invited speakers, panel discussions and several workshops on a variety
of creole languages.

	A call for additional papaers is being solicited.  Individuals or
panel proposals are being accepted on the theme, "EMPOWERING CREOLES:
DEVELOPING PEDAGOGICAL MATERIALS IN AND ON CREOLES."  Please send a 1-page
abstract to:
