Subject: Maya course at UNC
The Duke University-University of North Carolina Program in Latin
American Studies announces the 1997 Summer Intensive Introductory
Course in Yucatec Maya, at UNC-Chapel Hill, June 9-July 18. Four
weeks of intensive classroom instruction (six hours a day , five days
a week, with additional evening practice); a two-day hieroglyphic
workshop; and a two-week field orientation in Yucatan. Faculty:
Barbara MacLeod, University of Texas at Austin; Miguel A. Guemes
Pineda, Universidad Autonoma de Yucatan; and Dorie Reents-Budet, Duke
