This book is based on the presentations at the 3rd International
Conference on Speech Motor Control and Fluency Disorders. Much more
than than the former proceedings this book brings together in a fairly
comprehensive way a unique collection of theory and experimental work
in the area of speech motor production and fluency disorders. Many
chapters present overviews of recent progress in our knowledge about a
large range of topics: speech production models, motor control in
speech production and fluency disorders, brain research in speech
production, methods and measurements in pathological speech,
developmental aspects of speech production and fluency
disorders. Everyone who is interested in the field of speech motor
production in general as well as in fluency disorders, be it as a
scientist, clinician or student, will find useful information in this
book for both research and teaching purposes.
