Subject: Historical Linguistics: Amended Announcement
Texas A&M University
Department of English
Historical Linguistics: Tenure-track Assistant Professor, beginning
fall 1998, in Historical Linguistics. Candidates must be able to
cover a broad range of linguistics courses at the undergraduate and
graduate levels. The ability to to contribute to a new Ph.D.
concentration in Discourse Studies is desirable, as is the ability to
teach Old English.
Candidates must have their dissertations completed by August 1998 and
demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and
research; preference will be given to those with publications. Send a
letter of application and a curriculum vitae--postmarked by December
12, 1997--to Craig Kallendorf, Search Committee Chair/Department of
English/Texas A&M University/College Station, TX 77843-4227.
Interviews will be conducted both at MLA and at LSA. Texas A&M
