We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

Dear Linguists:
I posted a list of questions concerning English tense several months
ago and thanked linguists who kindly answered them. I would like to
ask questions again in order to make my analysis better. I would be
very happy if you could answer them. I will post a summary if I have
received enough responses. Thank you in advance.

My questions are as follows: In each of the sentences below, the main
clause has the past tense and the complement clause has the
past/present tense. Which tense would you choose in the complement
clause? If both of them are OK, *please* give a context in which each
of the tense can be used.

Dear subscribers,
I would like to use the rule-based POS-Tagger of Eric Brill for
another language than English, probably for French or German, and I am
looking for people who could share to me their experiences about the
application of the tagger in this special case.
Thanks

I'm interested in hearing from people about syllabus for a sign
language course for linguists, i.e. a theoretically oriented course on
sign language for linguistics students.
Please send syllabus examples and course descriptions directly to
hestvik at lili.uib.no.
Thanks,
