Hello,
I'm hoping you can help me. I'm looking for a developmental chronology
of derivational morphology. A list of when different suffixes are
acquired or produced would be great. I have been unsuccessful finding
such a list on my own. There's tons of info. on inflectional morphology,
but I'm more interested in the suffixes that cause stress shift in the
stem (e.g., -tion, -al, -ic, -ity). Of course at this point I'll take
just about anything. thanks.
Sincerely
Linda Jarmulowicz

The latest LSA Bulletin mentions the death of Prof. R. Hall of Cornell.
Is this accurate (I have not seen an announcement on Linguist List), or
is it an accidental transference from the notice concerning R. M. R.
Hall of SUNY Stony Brook?

Next Spring I plan to teach a course on Spanish Dialectology to
undergraduates. Can anyone recommend a text and materials (videos/tapes
and/or readings) that I can use?
I will post the responses I receive.
Thank you.
