We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

I am looking for references to word frequency dictionaries of English.
I also wonder if there are on-line word-frequency lists.
Thank you,
Alexander

I work now on the polysynthetic tendencies in Modern Greek. I want to
come in contact with people who have worked on this issue. A part of

the following subjects: - history of Spanish vocabulary - composition
of Spanish vocabulary - dictionary for Spanish - word formation in
Spanish - semantic description for Spanish words etc. Please answer
to my e-mail address: blank at cis.uni-muenchen.de
Thanks in advance

Subject: Speech signal analysis freeware/shareware
Could anybody recommend any speech signal analysis software
(freeware/shareware), other than SFS 3.10 (UCL) which I have been
using so far (BTW, it is quite good). What I need especially is
formant frequency estimation and display, and, naturally, the
point-and-click kind of communication with the computer :-)), as well
as reasonably easy manipulation of sound files (I am going to have
VERY many individual files in this research project). Please, include
the ftp/http address where the software can be found, if possible.
Thank you!
