Position Announcement
Lecturer (Limited-term)
Applications are being accepted for a one-year limited
lecturer in Linguistics starting September 1, 1998 for Fall 1998,
Spring and Summer 1999, subject to approval of funding. Teaching will
cover a wide range of Linguistics courses. The successful candidate
will teach 12 weekly contact hours per semester for the first two
semesters. 6 weekly contact hours will be taught in the third
semester; or, in lieu of teaching, teaching-related or professional
development activities may be assigned. The course load will include
one, or both, of English as a Second Language and First Language
Acquisition, as well as general linguistics courses.
A Ph.D. in Linguistics or Applied Linguistics is required.
Since a wide-range of specialization can be accommodated, please list
all the areas in which you would be able, and willing, to teach.

field of natural language processing, speech recognition and speech
synthesis. He/she will work in a language development group and

Profile:
-university degree in philology or linguistics, or equivalent
-(near-)native French

-at least a basic experience with and interest in computers
