We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

Hello Linguist List.
The Language Committee of Picuris Pueblo is putting together a library of
materials published or recorded on their language and related languages
and dialects. One of the items that I have been unable to help them track
down is:
George L. Trager 1935-1971.
[Notes & Tape Recordings of Taos material - Linguistic,
Ethnographic, collected in field sessions in 1935-1937, 1947,
1948, 1954, 1955, 1959; then every summer from 1961-1971; Picuris
material recorded in 1937 with Felicia Harben Trager, 1965-1971.]
My understanding from the Picuris folks is that George Trager had these
manuscripts and recordings in his possession. I also understand that
George Trager passed away earlier this decade.
Does anyone have information regarding the whereabouts of the materials or
a person or institution that might have such information? The Picuris
Language Committee would be most grateful for your assistance.
Please respond directly to <catieb at unm.edu>.
