Foreign Languages Program at California State University San Marcos, start
Fall 1999.

Young program seeks individual committed to enhancing offerings,
enrollments, and diversity in languages other than Spanish. Looking
for an energetic and enterprising person with strong interest in
second language acquisition and teacher preparation, who has a
commitment to working with adjunct faculty in enhancing the demand for
Japanese, Chinese, French, German (etc.) in our developing program.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching one or more of the above-mentioned
languages, and willingness to participate in CSUSM general education
program essential. Experience using classroom technology
desirable. Ph.D. or equivalent at time of appointment preferred.

          HEBREW TEACHING POSITION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF OREGON


The University of Oregon seeks a full-time Instructor in modern Hebrew,
beginning Fall, 1999.  Applicants should have native or near-native
competence,  MA or better in Hebrew or field related to language learning
and teaching, experience and skill in college-level language teaching.
Applications should include cv, at least 3 letters of reference, evidence
of excellence in teaching including student evaluations, syllabi, related
teaching materials, and description of instructional methods, goals, and
background for teaching Hebrew.  Duties will include first- and second-year
modern Hebrew, and other courses to be determined on the basis of the
