Nishinomiya, Japan: Hiring for April, 2000, one full-time Contract
Assistant Professor of English, two-year contract (renewable once for up
to four years total by mutual agreement) to teach (1)in an Intensive
English program to selected students from all disciplines and (2) in a
post-graduate MA course of Kwansei Gakuin University.  Kwansei Gakuin
University is a private school founded on Christian principles with an
enrollment in its eight colleges of over 15,500.
    Contract assistant professors of English will carry a maximum of 8
classes of 90 minutes a week each term with other duties limited to no
more than ten hours per week.  Special between-term courses will be held
but duty hours will be no more than 15 hours per week.  The annual
salary is approx. 5,970,000 yen or $47,500 (120 yen/$).   Applicants
should have a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics, TESOL or related fields and
relevant teaching experience.  Interested applicants should send a

Screening Schedule:

6 /30/1999   Applicants are requested to submit the following materials:

           l. a resume/CV
           2. at least two letters of recommendation
           3. a copy of applicant's diploma(s)
           4. applicant's publications (within three samples)
           5. a 5-10 minute video taped segment of applicant's actual
             teaching

7/15/1999   Candidates will be notified about whether they have been
            selected for an interview or not.
7/20?    Interviews at Kwansei Gakuin University.
