Stellenausschreibung
Am Institut fuer deutsche Sprache, Mannheim, sind fuer das von der
Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft gefoerderte Projekt: "Tendenzen der
Lexikalisierung kommunikativer Konzepte"
Zwei wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterstellen BAT IIa/halbe
zum 1.4.1999 zunaechst fuer zwei Jahre zu besetzen.
Die zukuenftigen Mitarbeiter/innen sollten einen Abschluss (Magister
oder Staatsexamen) in Germanistik mit Schwerpunkt Sprachwissenschaft
oder in Linguistik haben und ueber Grundkenntnisse in lexikalischer
Semantik verfuegen. Ausserdem sind Kenntnisse in linguistischer
Pragmatik/Sprechakttheorien wuenschenswert. Es wird erwartet, dass
sich die Mitarbeiter/innen an der Erarbeitung einer lexikalischen
Datenbank zur Semantik deutscher Sprechaktverben beteiligen und eigene
Forschungen zu einem Schwerpunktthema des Projekts betreiben.

Subject: Typology & Diachrony, Postdoc at Max Plank Inst. in Leipzig
The Linguistics Department at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary
Anthropology is offering 1999 postdoctoral staff positions. These are
non_permanent positions for which the normal term of appointment is 2
years.
Applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in linguistics or a related
discipline (or expect to finish before starting the postdoctoral
position), and have a specialization in one or more of the following
areas:
1) linguistic typology;
2) documentation of a hitherto undescribed or little described language,
including fieldwork;
3) historical linguistics, preferably broad-scale and/or theoretically
oriented, including comparative linguistics and language contact;
4) development of computer tools to assist in any of the above.

interests, two letters of recommendation, and a sample of written work
on a
