We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

Dear LinguistList
I'm beginning to study Argument Structure deeper and I would like to ask
for a reading list from anybody who has one. Likewise, do I need a reading
list for any and all works about Equationality. Any reference is
appreciated!
Thanks truly,
Paul Llido

I would like to obtain a copy of
Bloomfield, Leonard. _Menomini Language_, Yale 1962 (1938?)
Harris, Zellig. _String Analysis of Sentence Structure_, Mouton 1962.
Harris, Zellig S. _Discourse analysis reprints_, Mouton 1963.
Harris, Zellig, M. Gottfried, T. Ryckman, et al. _The form of information
in science_, John Benjamins 1989.
Harris, Zellig. _Papers on Syntax_, Reidel 1981.
If you have a copy of any of these that you would be willing to part with,
please contact me directly, not through Linguist.
Thanks,
Bruce Nevin

Subject: phonetic nasalisation symbol 2
Hi,
Many thanks for the numerous responses to my previous query concerning
the location of the nasalisation symbol in phonetic fonts.
IPAPhon does indeed possess such a diacritic!
Thanks also for the suggestion to use the following utility for viewing
fonts:
http://aritechdev.hypermart.net/ecm.zip
http://aritechdev.hypermart.net/ecm.zip
Two problems remains though:
- the tilde is well centred on most vowels except on the larger
"ash" vowel, where it centres above the "e" part of
the character;
- the diacritic prints just fine but looks rather like a macron on a
computer screen.
Any suggestions?
Marc Fryd
