We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

I am attempting to conduct a survey on foreign language teaching at
universities - structure of degrees, proportion of face-to-face
teaching to independent and flexible mode learning, proportion of
theory vs practicals, progress of absolute beginners vs students with
previous knowledge, etc.
The questionnaire involves 9 questions which require very short
answers.
Please e-mail me on: icasule at ocs1.ocs.mq.edu.au if you would like
to help me. I will then send you the survey.
I'd appreciate your cooperation, as many language departments in
the world are in jeopardy because of the erosion of funding and
teaching standards.
If I receive enough relevant replies, I will post a summary.
Thanks.

Dear all,
I am in the process of gathering data on French liaison. I am looking
for references or lists of examples of entire utterances or long
phrases illustrating liaison. As the emphasis is on prosody and
liaison, I am less interested in the standard examples of
suppletion/h-aspire words. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I
will make a summary available to the asking if I get a significant
number of responses. Thanks in advance.
