LECTURERS IN CHINESE/SPANISH

Two lecturing positions at Academic Level B are available.  The
appointees will be required to play a leading role in the development,
teaching and administration of courses and subjects in Chinese/Spanish
(as appropriate), and to contribute to the teaching and research effort
of the School in the field of foreign/second language pedagogy
(including pre-service and postgraduate Language Teacher Education
courses eg. LOTE and TESOL).

The positions are available from January 2000.

Assistant/Associate Professor of German

Wayne State University announces an opening for a tenure-track
assistant professor or associate professor (tenure possible) in
second-language acquisition/pedagogy. The position provides the
opportunity to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in German, to
collaborate with other language departments in developing our newly
established Master of Arts in Language Learning, and to teach in our
long-standing interdepartmental Ph.D. program in Modern
Languages. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in German; an excellent record
of college-level teaching experience; a demonstrated record of ongoing
scholarly research and publications in the field of second-language
acquisition/pedagogy commensurate with appointment at either the
assistant-professor or associate-professor level; the ability to
advise teaching assistants and graduate students working in this area
of specialization; and native or near-native fluency in
German. Starting date August 2000. Send cover letter, c.v., three
