Call for Workshop Proposals

Call
The ACL'2000 Program Committee invites proposals for Workshops to be
held in conjunction with the ACL'2000 Conference.
Areas of Interest
We welcome proposals on any topic of interest to the ACL community.
In addition to the traditional workshops areas, including both core
issues in CL and NLP applications (such as MT, CLIR, speech related
applications, etc.), we encourage proposals for workshops focussing on
Asian language processing and fostering communication and cooperation
between Western and Eastern (Asian) CL communities.
Dates
The Conference will be held October 3-6; Workshop dates will be
scheduled before and/or after the conference.
Venue
Pre/Post Conference Workshop/Tutorials will be held at Hong Kong
University of Science and Technology (HKUST).
The ACL has a policy on workshops:

Reviewing
Reviewing of Workshop proposals will be managed by an international
Workshop Program Committee.
Each submission will be reviewed by at least three reviewers.
Submission Details
Proposals for workshops should contain:
* A title and brief (about 500 word) content description of the
workshop topic.
* A budget proposal.
* The target audience and expected number of participants.
* Any special requirements for technical needs (computer
infrastructure, etc.).
Proposals should be submitted by electronic mail, in plain ASCII text,
as soon as possible, but no later than April 18.
The subject line should be:
"ACL 2000 WORKSHOP PROPOSAL".
