At present I'm working on my PhD thesis on Bulgarian-English legal
texts: 'Textual Patterns in Preparatory Qualifications' within the
traditions of systemic-functional linguistics (thematic progression,
cohesion, etc.). Not surprisingly, one of the greatest problems I have
is breaking down statutory discourse (or any discourse) into
structurally complete, semantically meaningful, analysable units. I'd
appreciate any ideas or references as to delimitation of textual
boundaries within the statutory norm.

I am looking for the citation for the articles that appeared in, I think,
New Yorker Magazine on "Genie," the girl who was studied intensively by some
linguists in California. They were very well written and I'd like to recommend
them to my students.

Thanks in advance.
