I'm pleased to post the following job announcement from the University of
Washington:

Lecturer in Japanese

The Department of Asian Languages and Literature seeks to appoint a
full-time lecturer of Japanese.  The initial appointment, starting
Autumn Quarter 2001, is for up to three years, with the possibility of
renewal, subject to the availability of funding. Applicants should
have at least the M.A. degree in Japanese, Language Pedagogy, Applied
Linguistics, or relevant fields with proficiency-based language
teaching experience.  Applicants should be capable of teaching modern
Japanese at any level, and be willing to train and evaluate graduate
student teaching assistants as well as develop new curricula and
classroom materials.

Send applications, including a curriculum vitae, statement of teaching
interest, sample teaching video tape demonstrating ability, and three
letters of recommendation to:
