TEST DEVELOPER POSITION
The Chauncey Group International
Princeton, New Jersey
Position Description: The Chauncey Group International is seeking a
test developer for the Test of English for International Communication
(TOEIC). Responsibilities will include writing, reviewing, revising,
developing, and assembling the TOEIC test and other related products
and services.
Organizational Information: The TOEIC test assesses the English of
non-native speakers who use English in the global workplace. It was
developed in 1979 by Educational Testing Service (ETS) and is now
administered by The Chauncey Group International. The Chauncey Group
International is a recognized industry leader in designing
state-of-the-art assessment systems that consistently exceed
professional testing standards. TOEIC test questions are based on
examples of authentic English from the international workplace and are
prepared by English-language specialists from around the world.
Geographic Location: The main offices of The Chauncey Group
International are located on the ETS campus outside Princeton, New
Jersey, approximately one hour from New York City and Philadelphia.
Requirements/Qualifications: Candidates must have excellent oral and
written communication skills, an extensive knowledge of the
conventions of English grammar and usage, well-developed analytical
and abstract reasoning skills, the ability to handle confidential and
sensitive material, and general knowledge of computers and computer
applications (word-processing and spreadsheets). A Master's degree in
TESL or English or an equivalent education is necessary, as are 2-4
years experience teaching ESL to adults. Publishing experience,
knowledge of a second language, and overseas work experience are
highly desirable.
