We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

Subject: English word frequency
Hi all,
I am looking for recent studies on English word frequency,
computational analysis that is similar to Kucera & Francis
(1967). Studies based on spoken texts are expecially welcome.
Could anyone help with the most up-to-date information?
Thanks.

Subject: Undeciphered scripts
Hello. I am trying to compile a list of all hitherto undeciphered
scripts. Does anyone know of any such lists that have already been
compiled or where else I may get info. on undeciphered scripts/glyphs?
I am particularly interested in scripts that are unreadable. I am
already familiar with the most famous cases, i.e. Harappan (Indus),
Linear A, Phaistos Disk and rongo-rongo.
Thank you very much for any help.
Sincerely,
Krishna Ramaraju
