Sum: English Word Frequency

I would like to thank all who responded to my request for information on
English word frequency. They are (in no particular order) Aaron Lawson,
Chris Beckwith, Christopher Hogan, Betty Phillips, Susanne Borgwaldt, Mark
Sharp.  The following is the summary:

Aaron Lawson adl6 at cornell.edu is the current director of Cornell
University's Spoken North American English Pilot corpus project. Currently
their information is not accessible on the Web but Aaron Lawson has kindly
helped me to solve my problems.

Chris Beckwith recommended the following Website:
www.itri.brighton.ac.uk/~Adam.Kilgarriff/bnc-readme.html

Christopher Hogan compling at juno.com thinks that nowadays word frequencies
can be easily produced from available corpora and it is not likely that
lists of word frequencies would be published. (Maybe that's why we cannot
find the latest word frequency lists published.)

Susanne Borgwaldt borgwald at psy.uva.nl recommended the CELEX-database with
frequency information for English, Dutch and German:
http://www.kun.nl/celex

Mark Sharp indicated that  the university of Reading linguistics dept has
a computer corpus, and that a frequency list may have been generated from
it.
He provided the following e-mail address: S.C.Arnfield at reading.ac.uk.

Betty Phillips reminded me of a previous summary that was posted on
Linguist List in February 1998.
