Function title : Linguistics Manager
The Linguistic Team Manager is responsible for both short and long term
development activities, of a team of linguists and lexicographers,
developing bilingual machine translation software. The team consists of
specialists in English and the other languages supported by L&H's
Barcelona machine translations system. In addition to managing the
ongoing activities of the linguists themselves, the Linguistic Team
Manager is also responsible for ensuring communication between the
linguistic and engineering staffs at every stage of the development
process.
Experience with rule base and lexicon development involving databases
and programming tools is a prerequisite.
The Linguistic Team Manager should have extensive (3-5 years) experience
managing medium- to large-sized groups of skilled linguists and
lexicographers in a commercial software development setting. This person
must be highly organized and able to handle multiple projects at one
time.
A Masters or Ph.D. in linguistics, computational linguistics, or a
related field required.
