Positions in speech recognition at Carnegie Mellon University

The Carnegie Mellon Speech Group conducts a broad program of research
in speech recognition and synthesis, language modeling and interactive
dialog systems. Most recently, we have made our Sphinx recognition
system available in open source.

Two positions are available:

A Post-Doctoral appointment in speech recognition, with an emphasis on
acoustic modeling and recognition algorithms. The ideal candidate
should have a recent or expected PhD in Computer Science or in
Electrical Engineering as well as a record of research in the
field. We are also interested in candidates with a recent or expected
PhD in Mathematics, Physics or allied fields, and a strong interest in
developing expertise in speech recognition technologies. Either
candidate would be expected to contribute to ongoing work in the group
while developing an independent research program.

A Project Scientist appointment. Candidates should have a recent or
expected PhD or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering,
Mathematics, Physics or allied fields. Experience in implementing
speech or distributed systems is desirable but not essential. We are
seeking individuals with strong cross-platform programming skills and
with an interest in developing expertise in speech technologies, as
well as an interest in contributing to the Group's open source
activities.
