For Query: Linguist 11.588
We would like to thank the following people for responding to our query about
references on Modern Greek negative particles:
- Laurence Horn, who suggested the article Horn, Laurence R. (1991) "Duplex
negatio affirmat...: The Economy of Double Negation", in Papers from the
Parasession on Negation, CLS 27, Part 2, 78-106. Chicago: CLS.
and
- Dimitra Kati, who pointed out that constructions like o mi polemos (the not
war) are probably loans from English and suggested two articles, one of her
own (as yet unpublished), dealing with mi/min negation in early child
language, and one by R. D Janda & B. Joseph "The Modern Greek negator
mi(n)(-) as a morphological constellation". Both are to be found in the
proceedings of the 4th (1999) and 3rd (1997) International Conference on
the Greek Linguistics respectively.
