We currently have a vacancy under the Marie-Curie scheme for a
postdoctoral fellow to carry out research in natural language
processing. To be eligible you must meet the following criteria taken
from the European Union guidelines:

* You must have a finished your PhD or have 4 years full-time
postgraduate experience other than PhD studies.
* You must be a national of one of the European Union countries (or
associated State), with the exception of the United Kingdom, or be
resident in European Union for at least the last 5 years.
* You may not have been based in the United Kingdom for more than 12
months in the 2 years prior to selection by Unilever.
* You should not be employed by Unilever or an affiliated organisation
at the time of selection.
* You should not have been employed in research in industry / commercial
enterprise for more than 12 months after graduation.

We are intending to fill at least one of these positions by the start of
September 2000, therefore the application deadline is the 20th of May
2000 with interviews to be held in June 2000. The fellow will currently
receive a gross salary of 3528 euro per month.
